Helps Chronic Headache Sufferers
AMMA THERAPY Amma Therapy is an ancient Oriental healing art and a modern form of Wholistic healthcare that promotes, restores and maintains optimal health. It combines Oriental Bodywork Therapy with Wholistic lifestyle counseling. This includes nutritional counseling, stress management, cleansing/detoxification, acupressure, herbal remedies and meditation. Amma is based in traditional Chinese medicine, which rebalances the energy system to help the body heal itself, and restore lasting health. Amma technique consists of focused circular manipulations along the energy Channels of the body. This improves the flow and balance of Qi (Life Energy) in the body, and results in a state of being relaxed and energized. Hands-On Health is one of the few health centers where Advanced Amma Therapy is practiced.
CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE Chinese herbal medicine is the use of natural substances to rebalance the body. It is based in a 7,000 year-old tradition which today includes some 5,000 substances, mostly from plants. As a part of Oriental medicine, the goal of Oriental herbal therapy is to rebalance the energy system. At Hands-On Health our trained practitioners first assess the patient's energy imbalance using traditional methods of Oriental diagnosis, and then choose the appropriate herbal formula. Herbs are medicine. Like all medicines, they can cause problems if used improperly and without proper education and training. Herbs are not to be self-prescribed, or recommended by an untrained person. If used properly, Chinese herbs are safe, and effective in two ways: 1 - helping with a specific health problem, and 2 - strengthening the body to promote health & longevity, and prevent illness. Chinese herbal medicine not only treats symptoms; it can rebalance the whole person at all levels.
CLINICAL NUTRITION Proper nutrition is
essential to good and lasting health. A good diet does two things:
A Wholistic approach to health must include the choice we make every day - what to eat. The Surgeon General recognizes that diet is contributing factor in at least seventy percent of all illness. Yet few Americans know what foods to eat and avoid. Despite the popularity of fad diets, there is no one diet for everyone. At Hands-On Health we individualize a nutritional program to you - your health problem, body type, and lifestyle. Nutritional supplements are no substitute for a good diet. Good food choices are the basis of the nutritional program we create for you. But with soil depletion, stress and pollution, even a perfect diet is not enough. So we recommend professional-grade nutritional supplements that are far superior to most found in pharmacies and vitamin shops. No matter what your health concerns are, following proper guidance from a trained professional can profoundly change your life for the better, and for good.

conscious practice of sitting still, with purpose, in the present moment.
By learning meditation, one can receive enormous benefits - decreased
tension, lower blood pressure, calmer nervous system, and increased self-awareness
and the ability to live in the moment. Meditation is offered within therapy
sessions, and within a guided group experience. Mindful meditation aims
to free the mind from daily clutter. It uses the breath as the base for
balance. Reiki is atechnique that is administered to the recipient through ‘laying on hands’. It is Japanese in origin. The practitioner places their hands in different positions on the receiver to invite the energy to flow through them. The treatment is given fully clothed. Many people describe feelings of peace and security from this treatment. THERAPUTIC TOUCH Therapeutic touch is a treatment that can be given with or without actual physical contact. It uses the energy patterns that radiate from our physical self, known to some as the aura. In gentle sweeping motions the practitioner harmonizes and balances these fields. It is often described as a subtle massage. GUIDED IMAGERY Guided imagery invites the participant to connect with their imagination to journey into places within themselves. Following the suggestions of the guide, this allows the person to get to know their inner self in a gentle and safe environment. POLARITY Energy balancing treatments, gentle hands-on massage work. FOCUSING Focusing
is a learned process of how to be with issues and feelings, especially
ones that we tend to suppress. This is a verbal facilitation process. BACH FLOWER ESSENCES Bach Flower Essences help you manage your emotions by your emotions from managing you. Their creator, Dr. Edward Bach, believed that a healthy mind is the key to recovering from ill health or preventing dis-ease. The 38 Bach Flower Essences are a system which stimulates one's own potential for self-healing. Their purpose is to achieve balance between the mind, body and spirit, by gently correcting emotional upsets which gives rise to physical symptoms. With the help of the Essences, negative attitudes can be transformed into positive ones. Like any truly wholistic approach, Bach Flower Essences treat the person, not the disease. After a private consultation
(in person or by phone), Audrey Shapiro will create a personalized formula
to help you regain REIKI
